Waterloo Area's Best Property Inspection Service
Home Inspection Services offered
Types of Inspections that we offer:
How long does a home inspection take?
Generally, it takes two and a half to three hours (longer if needed) for a thorough visual inspection. We collect the data on our laptop with cutting edge reporting and analysis software. You do not need to be present, but we recommend that you attend the home inspection to ask questions; learn more about the home inspection process; and to review and discuss the findings. We report major and minor deficiencies and make suggestions to remedy them. These findings will have you make an informed buying decision.
Other Services Provided
While we have many skills, we understand that we can’t possibly obtain all licensing and certification in all areas. We would be happy to schedule those inspection services using reputable third-party vendors for your convenience.
Sewer Lateral Inspection – Many home buyers may not realize that they are responsible for sewer pipes until it meets the city main. Having this checked for issues could prevent costly future repairs or a clogged sewer pipe.
Pool Inspection – Since a pool is an expensive part of a new home. It makes sense to protect that investment with a pool inspection.
Termite & Pest Inspection – Make sure your new home isn’t housing any unwanted guests by having a pest and termite inspection.
Radon Testing – Many parts of Iowa have elevated levels of radon gases that contribute to lung cancer. The EPA recommend that homebuyers and home sellers should have a test for radon. Here’s addition information on radon from the EPA: http://www.epa.gov/radon/
Lead Inspection – Pre-1978 homes can have the presence of lead-based paints. Concentrated lead exposure can have adverse effects on nearly all body organs. It is especially harmful to developing brains and nervous systems of children under 6. It is recommended that a certified and licensed Iowa Lead Safety person conducts an inspection if you suspect lead is present.
Asbestos Inspection – Asbestos that is present in a home is a serious health hazard and requires a license from the State of Iowa. If you suspect asbestos and would like an asbestos inspection, we would be happy to schedule one with a licensed third-party vendor.
Mold Inspection – Mold can cause serious health issues. Using advanced mold training and mold sampling, we can diagnose if the house contains mold. We can further access what building environment conditions are making it conducive to mold growth. We can then provide mold mitigation and make recommendations to eliminate the conditions where mold can grow.
Thermal Imaging – Thermal imaging can help reveal moisture problems, locating electrical systm hot spots, deficient insulation, heating/AC and duct work system issues, pluming leaks and much more.
